Creatures Crypt Haunted House Auction - June 10, 2008

For the past several years, Creatures Crypt has been known as one of Illinois’ top Haunted Attractions. In fact, in 2007 it was voted the number 1 Haunted House in Illinois by HauntedIllinois.com. Their creativity, detailed sets & props made them one of the best events in the business.
Sadly, 2007 was their last year, but you still have the opportunity to see this attraction one last time... and even take a part of it home with you! On June 10th, the owners of Creatures Crypt will be holding a Haunted House Auction in Bloomington, Illinois. The entire attraction must go. They will be auctioning off complete sets and scenes, as well as hundreds of individual items.

First Annual Indiana-Ohio Haunter Gathering On Saturday May 17 the IN-OH Haunters Build Group hosted their First Annual Indiana-Ohio Haunter's Gathering in New Paris, Ohio. 2008 Haunted House and Halloween Event Directory Well, it’s that time of year again. As they say, out with the old and in with the new. In order to keep only the most current information in our Halloween Event Directory, HauntedIllinois.com’s Haunt Database was just reset back to zero listings.
What does that mean to you? Well, it means if you have listed your Halloween event with us in the past, you will have to resubmit your information, if you want to be included in our 2008 directory.
You may ask “Why should I bother to submit my Halloween event info so soon? Halloween is months away...” Well, think of it this way. A Haunt directory is like an online billboard. If your event is listed in the directory longer, more potential customers will have the opportunity to see it. According to HauntedIllinois.com’s page view statistics from last year, events that submitted their information in September received 140% more page views than events that submitted in October. Also, events that submitted in August received nearly 200% more page views than events that submitted in October.
Taking those statistics into consideration, you can’t argue the simple fact that submitting your information early works to your benefit. Long story short, the sooner you submit your event, the more page views you’ll get, which in turn means more potential business for your event. Don’t pass up this opportunity to give your haunted attraction some great online exposure.
And remember, you don’t have to run a commercial haunted house to submit your event to our directory. It doesn’t matter if you run a charity haunted house, hayride, haunted trail, home haunt, yard display, pumpkin patch or a Halloween festival. As long as your event is Halloween-related, it is welcome in our directory.

Zombie March Chicago - June 21st, 2008 What if a thousand zombies raided downtown Chicago? Yeah, that's what we had in mind... Dress-up and make-up as your favorite undead and come to Chicago's first-ever zombie walk! These things have happened all over the U.S. and Canada, but never in our lovely city. We look to change that... This event will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm in downtown Chicago, IL.

2008 Spider Hill Haunter Seminars Spider Hill, Central Illinois' largest Haunted House attraction, has announced the date of their 5th Annual Haunter Seminars. The seminars will be held On July 12th, 2008 at Three Sister's Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. Along with the seminars, there will be lights-on and lights-off haunted house tours.
The official list of seminars is currently being compiled. I will post more information as it becomes available.

HauntedIllinois.com's 2008 Transworld Overview I just finished and uploaded Haunted Illinois Transworld Overview. In this show wrap-up there are more than 300 pictures that were taken on the show floor, at the haunt tour, haunt auction (including the new Unit 70 props) and at the IAHA Awards Banquet. Special thanks to Deanna Roberts-Morton for providing the summary of IAHA activities at Transworld and also to Rex Hamilton for sharing his pictures of the IAHA Annual Meeting & Awards Banquet. 2008 Transworld Halloween Show Update With the Transworld Haunt Show right around the corner, I’m sure everyone is getting geared up for Vegas. Over the past few months, the staff of Haunted Illinois has been compiling information about show events, celebrity appearances and more, in order to create a Transworld Information page. Sure, the official Transworld website is a great source of information, but unfortunately it only lists information related to events that are sponsored by, or “officially recognized by” Transworld Exhibits Inc. The purpose of Haunted Illinois’ Transworld page is to fill in the gaps, by communicating important show-related information that hasn’t been posted on the official website (examples: Dee Snider celebrity appearance, Larry Kirchner’s Haunter Gathering, Bone Yard Effects prosthetics applications on the show floor, etc). Along with all of that information, I’ve also put together a Transworld New Product Preview page, which is a compilation of press releases, announcements, pictures & video links from more than twelve different haunt vendors, describing some of the great new products they will be bringing with them to the show.
